What the fuck is Sarcoma???

weekend over!

We got back from Minnesota last night. We saw my family, and I gave Julie the poncho I knitted. I got to spend time with my nieces and that was great. My older sister Tina behaved herself and didn't get crazy. She did ignore Bill completely, however. Not sure why. Better than going nuts I suppose. Julie's husband was mellow as hell and I'm just glad. The whole visit freaked me out nonetheless and I was trying not to take it out on Bill, but I caught myself sometimes being short with him when I didn't mean to.
Julie has sarcoma in her chest, and she's getting a pet scan today to find out how extensive it is. She starts her radiation and chemotherapy on thursday, so I've got to knit her a hat and send it soon. I've already started but you know how I am - slow!
The drive up and back was very pleasant. Bill and I rented a car and drove up, and instead of small talk I read to him from the Orson Scott Card book, Pastwatch. That's a great story and I'm glad he liked it. We didn't finish the book, but I can still read to him the ending when we've got some more time. I'd kind of like to find out how it ends too! I've read it numerous times, but not for a long while.
I saw my doctor today, and he recommended some things for my arthritis. He said to wear socks and gloves to bed, or take an 8-hr. Tylenol arthritis pill right before bed so that it's still in effect when I wake up. That's in addition to the Piroxicam I'm already taking, and also Glucosamine & Chondroitin. Then! I'm to take some seriously high doses of B12 which I can buy over the counter. We'll see how I improve. I don't have to get a blood test for a few more weeks. I just want the aching in my ankles and wrists to stop. At least the Piroxicam has helped with the pain in my hands that I have when I wake up each day. Now I'm mostly stiff, but without the sharp, shooting pains I was having before.
I'm worried about Julie. My other sister Heather says that after chemo a person will lose their hair between 2 weeks - 2 months. I guess she's in the know- she was up on all the medications and stuff. Maybe she's in school for that. Sounded like it. She's pretty smart anyway. AND a gamer?? She told me she's been playing World of Warcraft every spare minute between classes and homework. That is the coolest thing. Maybe we'll finally have some common ground between us.

in which persistence pays off

So on a lark I sent off another set of divorce papers...and they didn't come back right away. I started thinking about that yesterday, and got a bit excited because if it was going to be bounced, that would've happened already.
It was in my mailbox, signed, and ready to file. WOOOOOOT~!
I cannot wait for tomorrow, when I go down and file this shit.

does it ever fucking stop?

So I got a call from my big sister Julie and she's got cancer. Actually my lunatic sister Tina called me and left it on my answerphone. Bill and I are going out there on Saturday to visit. I'm looking forward to cheering up Julie, but I am already cringing about seeing Tina. She's really a lunatic. I'm not exaggerating.

death email flurry

Me to the State of Minnesota:
Hello there - my husband and I split up over 8 years ago - and I cannot locate him. There is a chance that he may be dead and I just don't know it. How do I find out if he is alive or dead? Every mailing has come back no longer at those addresses. I would like to save myself the cost of a divorce if I'm actually a widow.

Thank you

Them to me:
Your email was forwarded to me- normally I would not search for an email, but

If you give me his full legal name and date of birth, I will see if I can find out if he has died.

Me to them:
Hi Carol, thank you in advance for anything you may find out. I went ahead and ordered a copy of our marriage certificate so that I can go to the Social Security office here and ask them for more info too. This is more complicated than I thought!!

His full name is Todd John Wendt, birthdate July 29, 1967.

Them again:
I have searched the data bases covering the years from 1996 to the present and do not see that he died in Minnesota.
We only have access to Minnesota Records. He could have died in another state?
Perhaps you could contact any family or friends that he had to see if they have any information about him.

Me again:
Thanks for checking, Carol. I used a people-finder service last year to find any of his relatives when I couldn't find him and was not able to get anywhere. I think I'll just go ahead with the divorce whether he's alive or not. I appreciate the help!! =)

--end--

Me to State of Utah:
Hello there,

I am trying to find out if my missing husband is actually dead, therefore saving me the trouble and expense of a divorce. He disappeared eight years ago, last known address some town in Utah, as of 2000. If I provide our marriage certificate can you tell me if there is a death record for him in the state of Utah?

His full name is Todd John Wendt, born 7-29-1967.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

State of Utah to me:

The Utah State Vital Records office contains Certificates for Utah only. If the occurrence happened in another State, you will need to contact that State. You can call our office for their contact information at 538-6380 or go to www.uscerts.com or www.vitalchek.com.

You may request Death, Marriage, Divorce, Stillbirth and Birth Certificates through the mail or in our office. You must be a spouse or direct relative (sibling, parent or grandparent) to obtain certificates, if not-you must provide us with written and notarized permission from one, or State Certified papers showing guardianship.

We require a current photo ID (of the person making the request), and fees are as follows:

Birth Certificate: $15.00 Additional copies: $8.00 each

Death Certificate: $13.00 Additional copies: $8.00 each

Marriage Certificate: $9.00 Additional copies: $8.00 each

Divorce Certificate: $9.00 Additional copies: $8.00 each

Stillbirth Certificate: $12.00 Additional copies: $8.00 each

We accept cash, check, and credit cards. (Credit cards are not accepted through mail requests)

---end---

All right, so there's obviously a bit different way that these things can be handled. I got so much help in Minnesota it makes me think they are either on the ball, or they are just cooler and understand what a pain this is.

more crap email

So I got this email from a co-worker, you know, one of those crap emails that people go, yeah! without reading the utter bullshit within? I got pissed. My comments back were in BOLD.

Dear so and so,
I have a response to this. You may or may not agree, but you sent it to me, so that opens the door.

1) "The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those "good ole boys", we will never "interfere" again.

Stalin alone killed 7 million europeans in a forced starvation of the Ukraine in the early 30's. This is more than Hitler killed during the course of the entire war against the Jews, where there was an estimated 6 million deaths.
http://www.historyplace.com/worldhistory/genocide/stalin.htm

In the case of Mussolini, he was a Nazi-sympathizer who allied with Hitler to cause the death of thousands of Italian Jews under his fascist regime.

Noriega was accused in 1992 of crimes against the community of Tululche (Chiche, El Quiche), in massacres that occurred in 1982, in the months of April, June and November.

Milosevic faced 66 charges of War Crimes , which include official charges ordering the displacement of 800,000 Kosovo Albanians, related looting and destruction, massacres in at least a dozen locales; similar and expanded charges in relation to non-Serbians living in Croatia, including torture and the destruction of churches; and even more charges for mass slaughter in Bosnia, including a formal charge of Genocide. There were rape camps where hundreds of thousands of non-Serbian women were rounded up and tortured.

As far as Hussein goes, throughout Iraqi Kurdistan, although women and children vanished in certain clearly defined areas, adult males who were captured disappeared en masse. Only a handful survived the execution squads. We're talking over EIGHT thousand people who disappeared in the space between February and September 1988.
http://www.gendercide.org/case_anfal.html

So we shouldn't get involved?? Who says? Who stands up for us once these maniacs get done killing millions of their own citizens and come for us? I think it's our DUTY as human beings to do our best to protect innocent people from genocidal maniacs.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines.
They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders.
No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

This I don't have a problem with. We should bring our troops home and get out of places where our presence isn't required. Our borders are HUGE. Who mans that? Our military isn't big enough to handle that, and we're already overextended in our current efforts. Now we're supposed to patrol the ENTIRE middle half of the North American continent? Please.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

Ok, what? We're the original "melting pot." Not one of us who live here today, barring Native Americans, was originally from this country. I think we should welcome immigrants and encourage them to LEGALLY obtain residence status. All the hoopla over keeping the borders locked is not going to help us in that cause. As long as our citizens continue to use illegal slave labor here in the states we're going to have a problem getting people legalized as citizens with the full rights of regular citizens. I welcome the diversity, personally. And anyway, who pays the costs on that? Who is going to pay for the task force to "round up" and "send back" the illegals. You? Me? Who? I know the rich aren't going to like tax increases for that purpose, because it doesn't suit their needs, which is exploiting aliens in the first place.
And what's that claptrap about France? That just strikes me as an ignorant jab just stuck in there for no reason. And it's been proven that France doesn't like immigrants, which was the reason for the SIX weeks of riots a couple of months ago over the abuse of first and second generation immigrants living in France, most of them born there, but still treated with disrespect.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!!
No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in.
If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here.
Asylum would never be available to anyone.
We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

There are many different kinds of Visas. 90 days standard? I don't understand why that would help anything. I think that's a reactionist answer to a non-existent problem. We have a huge influx of East Indian doctors who come over, for example, to do years of intern work with hospitals over here, and they are the creme de la creme of the medical world. We're better off for having them. 90 day visa? So how is it justified to make a prejudiced statement assuming everyone coming over is either a cab driver or 7-11 clerk? I take serious offense to that.
And what do we consider a terrorist nation? Germany? Sorry, Fritz, but yer outta here? Proclaiming broadly that entire nations are "terrorist" is disingenuous and patently obtuse. China commits atrocities towards it's citizens daily, and we do serious business with them daily. Japan could be considered terrorist for it's attacks on China, yet they OWN so much of this country. So we're supposed to sell off the country piece by piece to different countries, but not allow their citizens to enter?? What kind of hypocrisy is that?

5) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.
Again, I'll use the example of the East Indian doctors. People don't even finish undergraduate studies until they are over 21. Med school takes even longer, and then they're supposed to stay home instead of learning and helping and in general helping the state of the world? And who says older students are bombers? I'd like to see some documentation of that. It's really easy to make a statement like that and not back it up with the facts. Truthiness!

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.
Ok, this is just ridiculous. There are many different ways to become energy efficient in this country, none of which require us to destroy non-renewable resources like the Alaskan wilderness. That is pure laziness on the part of the energy giants. For one, we should have been looking into different, sustainable, renewable, non-oil energy sources as long as 40 years ago. However, the oil giants and their lobbyists stymied those efforts in order to bilk the populace of cash, and put it into their own pockets. In 1974 there was an electric car. It worked. They crushed the very idea and started selling even bigger gas-guzzling V-8's, until the gas price gouging started and hybrids started sounding like a good idea.
The other thing is that with the destruction of the wilderness the entire world's weather patterns are messed up, and billions of people pay the price. These anti-environmentalists are just waiting for the end of the world so they don't have to witness the reaping of what they sow.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we'll go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

Right now we are so dependent on foreign oil that the Saudi's would laugh and say, "allright idiots, go ahead, and see how long you last." Besides which, so many American companies (Halliburton) are tied up in those oil fields already it would even make a difference to say the Saudis v. America. There's nothing to distinguish us from them. Our oil companies have been in bed with them for years, and that's not going to change.

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of us know that what we give them is stolen or given to the army.
The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
Oh, now isn't that a simplistic way to look at things. Pray to Allah? That is offensive and patronizing. It's also condescending for anyone to say that we shouldn't help them because they don't use things right anyway. That's the same attitude that people use towards Native Amerians. It's racist and prejudicial, and downright offensive and condescending. They say, don't give them a casino because they will make money, and they're just going to use it for booze anyway. I'm sorry, that's a false statement to begin with, but what if they DID buy booze? Do I tell anyone how to spend their honestly-earned money? How is it anyone business how another person spends their money just because they are of a different race? That's just ignorant.
So yeah, don't help anyone, because they might have ideas of their own on how to use it, and we know better than they how to do things for them. How maddening!!

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

This one I cannot even respond to. If I have to explain then there's a bigger problem.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.

Um........yeah.

11) The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE...

Who's this we? There have been immigrants living in the US who speak other languages ever since they came to steal it from the Indians. I like the diversity. If there hadn't ever been other languages we wouldn't have so many different dialects of English, or even a Southern accent!

Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

No. It's a ridiculous, incendiary, ignorant bunch of statements made by someone who probably doesn't have the first clue what it's really like in the world. I despise Isolationists.

The Statue of Liberty is no longer
saying "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.
She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' "

Oh, and she's French.

=P

beat this man with a stick. please.

Thanks to Media Matters again for keeping up with crazy shit like this.

oh this is bad.

This is one insane news piece. I can't even read through it again. Goddamn SOE. I actually went through the SWG jedi quests - wasted months on a non-existent class key. The reason I stopped playing SWG was because I discovered the extensive macros and never needed to be at the keyboard again to advance. It was useful in gaining levels in the Jedi quest. Stupid. Stupid. We knew we were being strung along is the worst part. We kvetched daily about how they were never going to let anyone actually be a Jedi, and also that the moment an actual Jedi used a power they showed up on a player database and became hunted, only to be perma-killed. grrrrrrr.........

Did I mention cheapass yarn? Dang!

action points galore!

Oh my. Tonight at gaming was quite spectacular. In order for me to accrue action points (usable toward dice rolls or xp bonuses) I must use my Personality feat, which is to make the rest of the party laugh. The rule is that you can earn one per session, and use one per session, no more, no less. Carey awarded me two tonight. We hurt ourselves laughing at my antics. I know I went into the session knowing I was going to have to impress the guys, but it spiraled out of control.

We started out by arranging who was going to join me on my journey to the local tavern (in this case a very upscale tavern frequented by high-falutin' merchant types and nobles). Last session the Claire witch got super-pissed off by a priest of the Light who had bragged about killing a mother and child because the father was a half-elf, which made the mother a race-mixer and the child a half-elf as well. Claire was attempting to stay cool because killing a priest of the Light could have gotten her burned at the stake where they are staying in the town of Chalon du Saludre in Avoirdupois lands. It's Claire's home country (although she's from a small island far away up the coast) and she has already been in hot water for non-conforming. She's been disowned from her family and now risks questioning by what is basically the Inquisition.

So we were getting ready to game and we were trying to remember where we were so we could pick up. Darth Moll suggested they all pick on me to get me back into the proper mood to go start some shit. They all did. =P It was good, although I worried that they were completely overrating my skill at role-playing and my ability to really carry this out in an entertaining fashion. The DM Carey said she wasn't worried, and basically that's what I got from the rest of the group too. Grrr...the pressure was on to perform well.

The group (minus the elf Sheridan and half-elf Prince Kelvin) followed a pissed-off Claire down to the tavern. She started out by defying the rules of attire and threw off her headcovering, and rode down there in pants. I blew open the doors of the place with a spell, and strode right up to the bar. Um...casting magic in public can get you flogged or killed. So there I was at the bar, where I was turning all the heads - and I ordered an entire carafe of Sunhouse White (wine which is made by Claire's family on Port du Soleil). Ok drinking in public by a woman is not considered okay by any means.

I found a table, carried my devil wine over and proceeded to mutter to myself and start down the road to public drunkenness. There is a table to show how many units of alcohol affect your character in which ways - and it's based on Constitution. If I go over 14 units then I'm Tipsy. If I go over 28 units I'm Merry. Over 42 then I'm drunk. As another personality feat I have Rude Lush, which means if I'm drinking I need to pass a Will save or become Rude to basically anyone around me. Sunhouse White is 6 units per glass. I downed 2 pretty fast. Still in safety range.

The paladin Gerard (also Avoirdupois by birth) sat with me - and he got the first brunt of my anger. Mutter mutter, "murdering bastards...who does that priest think he is...murdering genocidal bastards...I'll show them, yadda yadda."

A group of half-orc nobles walked in and started drinking. Our bard Rafe started playing up on the stage just for background music. I kept muttering, and Gerard just tried to keep me calm. Our gnome showed up and joined us at the table soon after that.

I sent a drink over to the only other woman in the room, who was a gnome female. We toasted female solidarity and that was basically it. She had two Avoirdupois men with her who nearly fell off their chairs from the shock of what I was daring to do publically. There were other tables of people in the place, mostly half-elves (Rinaldi) who don't give a rat's ass what women do or don't do. There was one table of well-dressed Avoirdupois merchants who were having serious issues with me.

The half-orc nobility (very civilized in our game) sent over a shot to me. I decided to drink up. Why not? In the main city where my character attends Magic University I have an advisor who is a half-orc bard. Claire's had the hots for him for months. Anyhoo - 14 units for the shot. BAM. I was tipsy. The muttering got louder and worse. The half-orcs sent another shot. I pantomimed that was the last one - and tipped it back. BAM. I was Merry. The muttering got even louder and I was in earshot of everyone.

The Avoirdupois merchants had enough. One of them came over and began berating Gerard for not controlling his woman in public. I jumped in and started yelling at the guy and being unruly in general. He refused to speak to me, and threatened to "take [Claire] in hand" if Gerard wouldn't. I stood up and yelled something about taking himself in hand and if he didn't have the respect for women then he could BE one.

Cast: Reverse Gender. He biffed the saving throw and there was a woman standing in front of me in man's clothes. I told him - don't you know it's against the rules to be dressed in men's clothing as a woman??

Cast: Disrobe. He biffed that too, and ended up standing nekkid and female in the middle of the tavern. That was a great opportunity for me to exclaim as loudly as possible:

"HEY DOES EVERYONE KNOW THERE'S A NEKKED WOMAN STANDING IN THE BAR?!"

All hell broke loose. His merchant friends came over, as well as the half-orcs, the proprietor, the serving people, and god knows who else. The now-woman pointed at me and screamed, "Witch!!" and "Burn HER!" and his friends came over just then. They all started screaming about "witch" and all kinds of what not, and I stood there and told them they would be wise to back off and not touch me.

One of them decided to make a grab for me anyway.

Cast: Touch Me Not. My AC jumped by +2, and Homey took 1d8 damage/each level I cast as Wizard. BAM. So he didn't last long - he flew backwards with 20 points of damage and laid on the ground awhile. I yelled that anyone else trying to lay hands on this woman was in for a world of hurt. The half-orcs decided to step in and back me at that point. The merchants started making racial slurs toward the half-orcs, and I decided I'd had enough of these upstarts. Claire and the half-orcs are goddamn NOBILITY, and these merchant commoners are going to not only insult them, but attempt to lay hands on her? I don't fucking think so. The half-orcs and I laid waste to the commoners with some well chosen ...reminders... about their place in this life. The merchants tried to say that they were going to get the pub shut down.. and then Zaskin our gnome stepped in and talked to the proprietor about just what kind of mess he could avoid by doing the smart thing and catering to the nobles. Oh, he's a commoner by the way. Tee Hee.
So the Avoirdupois merchants were banned for life.

Oh - and it turns out I sort of slipped and said that the Reverse Gender spell was permanent. I really enjoyed trying to sell off the "Virgin" to the highest bidder. The former male really got a lesson. I gave it to him but GOOD. Actually the spell only lasts about 8 hours - but I made my Bluff check and also my Intimidate check and it ended with the poor poor virgin begging to be turned back, and pleading for my forgiveness. All the while she was nekked in nothing but a tablecloth that Gerard the paladin covered her with out of duty. This was Soooooooooo good. I made her kneel on the floor in front of me and beg to be changed back. And then it was ALL OVER because I said...oh, and move back. You smell. Oh god...that's when all hell broke loose in the group- odor comments, douching commericials quoted...man we did not get it back together for about a half hour. I was hurting from laughing so hard. It wouldn't have gone as far as it did, except that our most outwardly puritannical and "shocked" gamer was the FIRST one to make a comment after I said the woman smelled. That opened the door to anything and everything. It was diabolical! We could NOT stop.

So I finally turned her back into a man (to avoid the Inquisition, not because I wanted to), and the now perma-banned Avoirdupois merchant commoners took off in all haste.

The half-orc noble joined us for more drinks, Prince Kelvin showed up, Zaskin told him a skewed version of the story which was funnier than the original because of what it left out, Rafe the bard kept playing..., and Gerard tried to recover his stalwart composure. The sorcerer Sheridan was gone the whole night. At least the player was there to interact and enjoy. It turns out that the noble had a VERY high charisma. I made a roll to get out of going to bed with him- (Claire has this history of slutting around, I know it's terrible but what's a girl to do?), but his counter-roll for Seduction was a 33. No way I'm beating that. So off I went (drunk) with the Noble Lord. Carey will always give us an out if we want- but it was more in character that Claire go off with him.

Rafe decided he was going to get his action point by biffing a roll to try and insert himself between Claire and the noble. He tumbled, jumped over a table, next to the fireplace, holding a beer and a skewer full of meat. Ok so let's see what went wrong...he HIT the table, knocking the tablecloth in the fire, setting the table on fire, then he spilled beer on himself which ended up catching HIM on fire, then he stabbed himself with the skewer. So basically he was going to burn down the joint in some misguided attempt to "save" Claire. I told him very politely to back the fuck off. Ok I guess the words "back the fuck off" aren't the most polite. BUT it WAS in character as a Rude Lush. Tee Hee.

That's essentially the story. We have not laughed so hard in a loooooooooong time.

report on the weekend so far

I worked with a client this weekend who was very ticked off at me all day yesterday. She almost cracked at one point and complimented me through a stuffed bear. Then it was back to silence and an early bedtime. Oh well.
Today she was giggly and friendly and very much not ticked any more. It was pretty fun. I like working with her so I'm gonna be bummed when she leaves my caseload to go to an adult family home next month. It's going to be hard selling off all of her stuff knowing it's pretty much the end of the line for her.

So, old people: are they required by DNA to get crabbier and more stupid as the years advance?
There's this old woman sits and does crosswords at the table near the elevator in the senior apartment building. I see her quite often and I've always tried to be friendly. She never speaks, yet once in a while I get a stern glance. I was doing some of my client's laundry today, and when I came out of the laundry room with the basket she demanded to know in a very annoyed tone if I cleaned the lint traps in the dryers. A fucking year and a half and she breaks silence to be the laundry monitor. I replied in my snarkiest tone that yes, I cleaned them. Both. But you know, thanks for checking up on me!
I don't think we're gonna be friends, her and I. Let's call it a hunch.

what a surprise...

I love the line in here about "still hoping to build a life..."

big brother, evercrack style.

Unreal! I was looking at the Sony EQ site and they have a character search function now. So I popped in my old character name. MY IN -GAME INVENTORY showed up with a picture! That is so weird!! I'm glad though, that I was able to find the correct server, since both Veeshan and Karana were sucked up by other servers. I found all my friends too, which is pretty neat! (And enemies...I know how to Avoid certain people too.)
Well - I'm looking forward to playing a little again. I am going to get Bill an EQ widower t-shirt.

in which I get on the stick.

So I sent out papers to Todd's last known address...that yellow expired forwarding sticker. It cost me $5, and I have return service on it. I am not tracking it. Enclosed is the summons and petition for divorce and also the marriage dissolution agreement saying I am not gonna fucking pay any bills he's incurred over the years.
By next payday I'll know if he got it or not, and if not, then I fucking file without him as a "contested" divorce. Maybe I'll have to publish the notice in Utah, since the address said St. George.
Whatever.
=P

Screaming with laughter without the aid of drugs

Oh...Keith Olberman makes my day. You HAVE to watch this clip. He takes the shit out of Bill O'Reilly better than anyone I've ever seen.

I'm such a fucking idiot.

Ramsey county has a certified copy of my marriage certificate. I mean, DUH!!!!

I called them, the lady found it while I waited, and now I sent off $9 to get it. It won't have his SSN on it, but I can take the certificate and my ID to the SS Office and request his info. Stupid bastard can't fucking hide forever. I love Fran at the Ramsey County vital records department. Once I explained the situation she was helpful as anything. Minnesota Nice. Gotta love it. Girls stick together!! =)

death and taxes...or, the moment in which I wish I was a widow

Filing taxes is a pain in everyone's ass...and I'm no exception. I don't have any information on my erstwhile hubby (like a SSN!) so I can't file married filing separate. BUT, I am not allowed to file as Single. I currently sit on hold with the IRS. I've filed Single all these years...and I guess I wasn't supposed to. The agent is doing some research on what the fuck I should do.

Ok. I might be considered legally separated by the State of Wisconsin, even though there is no formal decree. I now have to find that out from the State of Wisconsin. I do have to file Married though. Dammit. =P

Great article from buyblue.org - disturbing though.
