the moooooove.
This morning certainly went better than I expected with my client. I made sure she was given medications before I arrived, and then I gave her a sob story as to why she should go easy on me today. She went with me without a peep. We went to breakfast, and then to the park. I got some knitting done, and made multiple phone calls. Eventually she asked for some coffee, so now I have internet access from the coffeeshop.
Later I'll take her to the new place, but I need to make sure that she's got stuff in place first. Chair, bed, etc. Clothes too. We had a minor accident in the coffeeshop bathroom, and she needs a change of clothes. Poor woman. She's too drugged to even toilet properly, but she's happy as a clam reading magazines and talking with her stuffed rabbit.
I'm glad I got this time to sort out my voice mail messages and return some calls. I'm not real happy with one of the messages - another person I work with is just annoying as fuck. She requested that we all call her on the voicemail box and tell her every client's name, doctor's name, doctor's number, emergency hospital, and dentist info. Ok, fine, but she has all of that information already, updated and in writing. So yah, I wrote my supervisor and said that sounds like a bad idea for her to go making forms for everyone to follow - too much information in too many different places sounds like a recipe for disaster. Someone might drop the ball in updating the info, and mess the whole thing up when it really matters. Bleh. I said I'd do what this woman wants but I wanted it on record that I think it's very unwise!

must be monday
it's just really sad about some people.
I was packing up a client's belongings this morning and her staff came in and started going through the boxes to see what she could take. I set her straight about it but for the love of god, that's evil.
I have to stay away as long as I can or I'll do or say something I'll regret later on. I have been waiting to be rid of this staff for months, I suppose I can hang on a day or two more.
I saw the man whore today. He asked me for a pen. I gave it. Time passed. He gave it back and wished me a good day. I said same to you. The End.
So why do I feel so dirty? Blecccchhhhh. NEVER date people who you work with. That ought to be a Cardinal Rule. It never gets better with time. It's always gross. Or maybe it's just exposure to him that yuks me out.
I have to wait for some meds before I go back to Carol's - and I need to bring by more boxes. I just don't want to go back right now. That ...woman... makes me so mad. Sometimes I wish there was a Hell so I knew she'd be burning eventually.

makes ya think
Last night we went out for dolla-fitty margaritas, like every Monday, and also to celebrate the signing of my new apartment lease. Something has to go right, eh? Well, you know. It was great because we had our favorite bartender, Patrick, who had his own good news, that his company might have a nice new extremely lucrative contract to make a video. I hope that goes well for him.
Lesley and Darth Moll showed up, and I always like hanging with them. Of course my honey was there, and I love seeing him too. We had drinks, and talked and had a good time and then out of nowhere my head exploded into another full-blown migraine. I wasn't able to drive home, and again, Bill had to take care of me. Wtf? I don't know if it's meds, or hormones, or what, but this sucks! We got back to my place, and I had him give me a straight shot of tequila. That was amazing - it worked like a charm. Pain backed off, and I even kept it down. Sometimes when I've treated a migraine with shots of alcohol they don't always stay in my stomach. I actually felt better though. I even felt ...snuggly...shall we say. Then I passed out.
I had really amazing fucking dreams. I went to another dimension via a purple-light machine, and visited an alternate London. I was freaked out and came home again, but then wanted to see this other dimension a second time. When I spotted the purple machine lighting up again, I jumped on and went for it. There were old-timey buildings but cobblestone streets. Everyone was dressed in sort of Edwardian-Punk, Mad Max meets LOTR. Minus the fucking elves.
Anyway. It was really interesting and fun, and there were some punk kids who were protecting me from the "man" I guess, who was looking for me because I was a stranger, although I don't believe anyone knew that I was actually from an alternate world. It was so cool. I was down at the ocean, and there were some people out there harvesting I don't know what, the memory is fuzzy now, but I'm thinking it was stone dragon heads. No idea what that was about, but I was helping in the dream. I had to hide in a crowd of homeless people, all around fires and things, and these kids shuttled me from place to place, keeping me from being caught.
We were hanging around this bar, and there was a guy outside playing guitar. We were supposed to work for him for some kind of payment - the money was different than I've seen before. I'm not sure what we had to get but it was some kind of gem? maybe. I don't know. We went into the bar and it was Deadwood/Mad Max dress. There was an old-timey barkeep woman, in leather with ruffley (sp?) lace and she was serving drinks. When I came out of the bar is when I noticed the streets and buildings being so different and I tried in the dream to explain it to my new friends. They didn't understand what I was talking about. I told them that I'd been to London many times in my world, and it's WAY different! I mean, cobblestone streets! I think that's about the time I woke up and started telling this to Bill. Well, almost woke up. I thought I might have been awake but now I'm doubting it. He said I was giggling like mad, and trying to explain these streets, and it was around 6am. Weird! So I probably was not awake.
There was another part of the dream where we were in a store, and there were wax (?) heads in various states of growth, in little terrariums or somesuch. Not that wax grows, but in the dream it did. All the heads were purple. Don't they say that people are supposed to only dream in black and white? Apparently I dream in purple. I wonder what that means. Probably nothing. Hmm. At least it was a kickass fun dream and not scary or a nightmare. The tequila is probably to blame for the weirdness. I should drink more of it before bed. I'd make a fortune off writing the stories I dream up. Well, as long as I recall them enough to get them down on paper, or blog. ;-)

what a fucking weekend
I have claim bullshit. Utter bullshit. Thursday I wasn't feeling well, and then got two rejection letters from jobs to which I applied. Then a phone call telling me I didn't even qualify for an interview for the third. Then no response whatsoever from the fourth. Ack. With the way my job has been going lately the only thing keeping me going was the prospect of finding new work. Then: bam, bam BAM and nada. I of course was on the pager on Thursday, so after I got the call (and I was working at Border too) I just lost it completely and had a nervous breakdown at the cash registers. One of our clients paged me later and started yelling and swearing at me. I had to call a manager for backup and I think he was pissed I didn't handle it alone, but goddamn it, I'm not a fucking psychiatrist, which is what this client really needs. So then two more pages, after I leave Borders. It was raining pretty hard, and so I was cold, wet, crying, pissed off, humiliated, and feeling useless. So then a call came in and my staff called out for the next morning for her (get this) FOURTEEN hour shift. So guess where I spent my entire next day?? Hmmm, I wonder. Great fucking weekend. It ended with a migraine. I spent all of Sunday after I got off work in bed. If it wasn't for Bill taking care of me I don't know what I'd have done. I couldn't even get my pills on my own.
So today I had to do all of last week's work in one day. I was only missing one audit, because the staff hasn't given me the monthly receipts and money logs yet. Otherwise I totally kicked ass all over my workload.
Now it's time for some margaritas. And I still have the fucking migraine. =P

this weekend
...was pretty good. Yesterday it rained like a motherfucker and I got soaked leaving Stu and Ciaren's. We gamed, and crocheted, and basically had a good time. My character isn't doing much right now, because she needs to research a spell so she can make it in reverse. I'm sort of useless right now, game-wise. Actually I could be considered useless otherwise too! Ha! Ok maybe not. My problem isn't that I'm not needed, it's that I overcommit myself. I clocked almost 90 hours the last 2 weeks, just in overtime. I worked at least one night until after 7:30 (in the office) and another night I did a five-hour training in CPR. I don't get to count either of those times anywhere; instead I just have flex time. Of course we're glared at when we flex too much, because that means we're not in the office. Whatever. bitch, bitch, whine, complain. I can very much complain, perhaps, because I've applied to four new jobs now in the past week or so. Two of them today. Who knows if I'll get anything, but you know I would certainly like a raise. I don't WANT to work 90 hours to see only $500 on my paycheck. It's lame and wrong. I'd make more as an RSS. I'd be tied down to regular hours, but I'd certainly be paid more. I used to only do on-call work, and it did pay better than what I'm doing now.
